Henry Rollins

I don't know how may of the "old timers" here know who Henry Rollins is, if you don't, maybe you should check him out. Henry is about 44 years old and was a member of the early 80's punk band Black Flag and later on The Rollins band. He's also a bit actor who's been in things like The Chase with Charlie Sheen to more recently Bad Boys 2.

Nowadays, Henry does standup/spoken word tours. He was at ETSU Thursday night at the Culp Center and put on a great show. He does alot of political satire/current events type stuff as well as just everyday occurances. If you ever get a chance to see this guy, do yourself a favor and go. He put on a 2 1/2 hour show that was just brilliant. The show ranged in topics of Katrina, the war in Iraq, Bush, Henry's Trip on the Tran-Siberian Railroad, Being Broke down and broke with Black Flag in Bristol in 83, to Henry's love life, or lack there of, to 911. Until then though, I'd suggest buying his Think Tank cd or his dvd Up For It . If nothing else, please check out the audio samples for the hilarious, "Brazil" to the poigant and heartbreaking at times, "Marius" from the Think Tank disk.
